Dr. Ullman recently retired from the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, where he had over 39 years of extensive experience conducting and delivering research results in transportation operations. As an internationally recognized expert in work zone safety and mobility management, work zone traffic control, and work zone performance assessment, Dr. Ullman has conducted over 100 studies on these and other topics for various federal, state, and local agencies and private-sector entities. He is a member of the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, an independent organization that provides consensus-based recommendations to the Federal Highway Administration regarding potential changes to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
